Carl Richburg

Carl Richburg, son of the late Calvin and Cammie Leonard Richburg was born December 16, 1957, in Sumter, SC. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday evening, January 31, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter, SC.

Carl received his early education in the public schools of Sumter County. He was a 1975 graduate of Sumter High School. After graduation, Carl was employed by Crescent Tools, Sumter, SC, and Carolina Power and Light, Sumter, SC.

Carl first married the former Tina Davis of Sumter, SC. After a brief marriage, they divorced. Years later he relocated to Inglewood, California, and married the late Michelle D. Savoy Richburg. While in Inglewood, he joined Bible Tabernacle Church, Inglewood, CA. He served in many capacities while at the church and eventually became an evangelist sharing the word of God with those in need. Later, he migrated to El Paso, TX, where he married the former Claudia Romero. After they divorced, he enjoyed life by traveling from Albuquerque, NM to El Paso, TX to Virginia Beach, VA and eventually, he returned to Sumter, SC.

Carl was a fun-loving person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Fond memories of Carl will forever be remembered and cherished by: his two brothers, Leonard (Roshowndra) Richburg of Virginia Beach, Va and Darnell Richburg of High Point, NC; One sister, Connie (Norman) Phelps of High Point, NC; One Stepson, Michael Savoy of Columbia, SC; two stepdaughters, Telba (Nicholas) Washington of Las Vegas, NV and Claudia Odeth (Cameron) Lee of California; a special cousin that was a friend and a sister, Parthenia Lewis of Summerton, SC; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
